Physiotherapy Services

Home Physiotherapy
£0.00

Home physiotherapy, which means a variety of things, either:

  • physiotherapy assessment and treatment within your home and garden

  • mobile physiotherapy, in your local environment, the gym, your local club, the supermarket, your family’s house.

  • community based physiotherapy to help you get back to your favourite activities and take part in social and physical occupations

"Healing happens best where life happens."

We can work together on the goals that mean the most to you, such as moving around in bed, getting to the bathroom independently, walking the dog, going to local social get togethers with friends.

Neurological Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy and Maintenance of Function
£60.00

Are you or a relative suffering from a long term neurological condition and you are in pain, uncomfortable or wanting to do more?

We can work together on common conditions such Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke/CVA and other long-term conditions.

Providing neurological physiotherapy at home leads to greater function and ability to be independent. In familiar surroundings, movement can be more fun, easier and less stressful.

As a neurological physiotherapist, I am skilled in manual handling, positioning, seating, facilitating movement and function in the home environment. I can teach carers how to assist in care and activities.

Parkinson's physiotherapy at home will include using hobbies such as gardening, dancing and music to bring out the best in your functional ability, exercises to improve balance, strengthening and movement initiation.

Multiple Sclerosis physiotherapy at home or out and about will assess and assist in managing abnormal tone, loss of movement, pain, positioning, strengthening, and re-gaining function following relapses.

Stroke or Cerebrovascular Accident/CVA can have a devastating effect on your function and ability to participate in daily activities, get back to work or your hobbies and have a good quality of life. I can work with you to minimise abnormal muscle tone, regain active movement in normal movement patterns, re-learn walking, maximise use of the affected upper limb and protect from further injury. Being able to transfer in and out of bed, on and off the toilet or commode or even being able to walk across the room to your favourite armchair.

Working together to find a balanced, healthy lifestyle with reduced pain and discomfort and re-education of movement in your home and/or familiar environment.

Post Surgery Rehabilitation
£60.00

Post-surgery physiotherapy at home provides structured one-on-one rehabilitation in your own environment —ideal if you have restricted mobility, struggle with transport, or are recovering from procedures like hip, knee, spinal, or upper-limb surgery, I can provide safe, supported rehabilitation at home.

Home rehabilitation after surgery is crucial for the success of the operation itself and most surgeons will give a home programme to follow. Perhaps you or a relative needs some support and encouragement with this, or you need help in adapting for your own particular circumstances at home.

Having worked on orthopaedic wards within the NHS and private hospitals such as Kind Edward VII and The Cromwell and London Clinics, I have significant experience on providing post surgery physiotherapy.

I can visit you in hospital before returning home to plan for your physiotherapy home visit after surgery. We can also talk before an operation to prepare you for the operation and ensure you are as fit as possible to encourage optimum recovery time.

Rehabilitation physiotherapy at home may include mobility rehabilitation, transfers, use of hot and cold therapies, using the bathroom and negotiating stairs and steps after surgery.

  • Initial Assessment: As a chartered physiotherapist I can review your discharge notes, surgeon protocols, and physical limits.

  • Pain & Swelling Management: Using manual therapy, massage, cold therapy, or lymphatic drainage to reduce post-surgical oedema.

  • Mobility & Strength: Focusing on passive-to-active joint mobilization, gentle flexibility, and targeted muscle re-education (such as quadriceps or core strengthening).

  • Functional Independence: Teaching you how to safely navigate stairs, transition from chairs, and gradually transition away from walking aids like crutches or zimmer frames.

Falls Prevention and Rehabilitation
£0.00

If you are falling over or you have a relative or is becoming less steady on their feet, this can be a real worry. Perhaps you are concerned about being able to stay in your own home and maintain your independence, maybe getting up to go to the loo makes you anxious or you can no longer take your dog for a walk without worrying about falling over.

Elderly physiotherapy at home for the older adult, or someone with a disability at risk of falling can benefit from a tailored home programme to build confidence, strength, agility and balance.

Falls prevention physiotherapy looks at the risks around you at home, how you move. I can work with you on balance, looking for hazards in the home and working on making things as safe as possible.

Balance physiotherapy can be fun, let’s dance, go for a walk, get out to the shops or even just down your steps into the garden.

Building confidence doing activities you enjoy can lead to greater strength, balance and function, this may mean using a walking aid or changing the layout of your home, but we will work on this together so you maintain control of your health and well-being.

Learning Disability Physiotherapy
£60.00

Our aim together will be to provide patient, accessible and enjoyable sessions that celebrate achievement.

I work with young adults from 14 upwards, transitioning from Children’s Services to adult, which can be a tricky time and can offer support and activity at home or college/day centre, depending on where you need the support.

I also work with any adult with a learning disability, through life experiences, palliative care, injury and illness. My specialism is people with complex and profound disabilities, who may be neuro-divergent, have communication needs or behaviours that can challenge in traditional settings.

If you have a learning and physical disability, then I am the physio for you. I have specialised in my career with families, carers, support workers and individuals with a variety of needs and enjoy working to gain a great quality of life, where you can look forward to freedom of movement and the joy of touch and sensory input from exploring your environment.

I am a creative physiotherapist with a functional approach, laterally thinking of ways to bring out the best in someone’s ability to move. I learn with you, taking time to get to know you and what you enjoy and want to achieve. I can adapt most exercises or activities to a level you can participate in.

Typical physiotherapy input can be:

  • 24-Hour Postural Care: Manage seating, specialized sleep systems and positioning to reduce pain, pressure sores, and soft-tissue tightening.

  • Mobility and Falls Prevention: Assess walking, balance, and coordination, and provide tailored exercise programmes or equipment like wheelchairs and walking aids.

  • Maintaining a healthy weight and fitness: Looking at access to public exercise facilities as well as specialised or adapted fun activities to keep you moving.

  • Respiratory Care: Promote active breathing, clear airways, and safe positioning or techniques to reduce chest infections, including preparation for eating and drinking and maintaining a safe swallow, working with a Speech and Language Therapist if able.

  • Rehabilitation: Support recovery following an injury, surgery, or acute illness.

  • Carer Training: Educate and train family members, support workers, and day-centre staff on safe handling and daily exercise integration.

As a mobile physiotherapist, I can go to where you need advice and input and find more ways to help you.

Give me a call to talk through what I can offer.

Palliative Care Physiotherapy at Home
£60.00

Palliative physiotherapy at home focuses on comfort, dignity and managing symptoms rather than curing an illness. It is very important to maintain as much independence as you want up until the last days and hours. You or your friend or relative might just want to be able to get out of bed to use the loo instead of a bed pan, sit out to have a cup of tea or sit out in a recliner chair to talk to their visitors. The little things make all the difference.

I can help you if you have a life-limiting or terminal condition stay safe and as independent as possible in your own environment.

Key Goals and Interventions for the best quality of life:

  • Pain Management: Use gentle massage, heat or cold therapy, TENS machines, and safe positioning to ease discomfort.

  • Breathlessness Support: Teach controlled breathing techniques, relaxed postures, pacing strategies, and how to use a fan or airway clearance methods.

  • Mobility and Safety: Suggest gentle stretching, seated or standing exercises, and safe transfer techniques (moving from a bed to a chair or toilet).

  • Equipment and Posture: Recommend mobility aids (like walkers or wheelchairs) and help prevent pressure sores or joint stiffness (contractures).

  • Caregiver Guidance: Guide family members and care staff on safe handling, lifting, and repositioning.

  • Staying active: Maintaining enjoyable activities and fitness for as long as possible.
